A Weekend in Morgan Hill: What There Is to Do

People ask us what there is to do in Morgan Hill.
A lot more than they expect.
Here's how a weekend here can look, from a slow Saturday morning to a Sunday on the trails.
Saturday Morning: Farmers Market and Downtown
Start at the Morgan Hill Farmers' Market, held on Saturday mornings by the train depot. Hours can change with the season, so check before you head over.
From there, walk downtown. It's mostly locally owned restaurants and shops, with murals that nod to the valley's farming history. Grab a coffee and take your time.

Saturday Afternoon: Pool Day or Playground
With kids, this is where the afternoon goes. The Centennial Recreation Center has a heated indoor pool that runs year-round, with a slide and a water play area. In summer, the Aquatics Center opens with waterslides and a water playground.
Prefer to stay dry? Community Park has playgrounds, sports fields, a dog park, and a skate park. Magical Bridge Park is an inclusive playground where kids of all abilities can play together.
Sunday: Get Outside
Sundays are for the trails. The Coyote Creek Parkway is a paved path for walking and biking. Henry W. Coe State Park, the largest state park in Northern California, is close enough for a day trip. Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve is a good pick for a shorter outing with wide valley views.
Seasonal Extras
Depending on the time of year, you can pick stone fruit, visit a pumpkin patch in the fall, or spend an afternoon along the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail. We wrote a full guide to Andy's Orchard if you want to plan a visit.
Villa Mira Monte, a Queen Anne style estate from the 1880s, also offers docent-led tours. Check the current schedule before you go.
Why This Matters If You're Thinking About Moving
When people say Morgan Hill is quiet, they're right. But quiet doesn't mean there's nothing to do. It means you can spend a Saturday outside instead of in traffic.
If you're weighing a move, visit on a weekend, not a weekday. You'll see how the town actually lives.
